The Digestive Disease Group of Greenwood, SC is proud to welcome our first female gastroenterologist, Dr. Ifrah Butt, from Miami, Florida. Dr. Butt was originally born and raised in Toronto, Canada and completed her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Toronto. She then went on to receive her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, graduating with highest honors. After medical school, she moved to Miami where she completed her residency training in internal medicine, also serving as the Chief resident of her program. She then went on to pursue two fellowships, in Geriatric medicine and Gastroenterology and is now a full-time practicing gastroenterologist. She specializes in the treatment of various gastrointestinal disorders and performs endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies and upper endoscopies. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and her cat (Ellie). She also enjoys hiking, nature and practicing yoga. After growing up and living in large cities, she fell in love with the small town feel of Greenwood and decided to bring her skills to our practice at Digestive Disease. She is an empathetic, dedicated and a passionate young professional committed to providing the best care possible for her patients.
